San Gim -> San Galgano -> Pienza. Doable?

If you were to drive from San Gimignano to San Galgano and then on to Pienza - would this be reasonable in a few hours? I am driving from San Gim to Pienza, but I really want to see San Galgano and I may not get another opportunity. It looks ok on the map, but I don't know what it would really be like. I'd like to leave San Gim at say 10am and get to Pienza by 4pm. Thanks

Yes, that is very doable, and I would throw in Montalcino and/or Mt. Oliveto Maggiore. Have fun !

Don't miss Monte Oliveto Maggiore and have lunch there - yummy! Buy some Brunello in Montalcino.

For BillB,
It's a monastery just a few miles east of Buonconvento (off the SS2? south from Siena). Various services still done with gregorian chants, their treasures include an outstanding Signorelli cycle and works by other Sienese painters. The restaurant--around in back--is run by the "church ladies" and serves delicious, inexpensive, simple fare on a large outdoor terrace or in a cozy indoor space. Have only had dinners there, so not sure about lunch. No overnight lodging that I know of. Definitely worth a stop-off if you are passing by.
