San Francisco to Spain & Portugal in May
 

Planning a trip with 2 other 70+ women and having a difficult time with air flights in May. Kinda late, we know. Any suggestions for flights (even one-ways) so that we can fly from San Francisco to Madrid,Seville,Granada or Malaga and then fly out of Lisbon or Porto. Ryan Air goes to Gatwick and most flights to U.S. seem to go from Heathrow. Do not want to fly TAP (bad reviews and highest prices). Thanks for any help and also suggestions for accommodations in historic districts under $200nt.

Have you checked United? Just did a quick look at May 5 SFO to MAD return May 19 LIS to SFO or 3 pax and see RT Premium Economy for about $1200 per person. (Well worth a couple extra bucks for flight of that length, IMO) Outbound routes via San Diego then Frankfurt, return with one connection in Frankfurt. Flights by UA and Lufthansa (which is a great airline)

Thanks Seamus.. I know Lufthansa is great, not a big fan of United but will check it out.

FWIW, we flew TAP twice and had a wonderful experience both times. We live in Massachusetts, so we fly out of Boston, and both times the airfares were very low, the cheapest I found anywhere. Perhaps it is different from the West Coast. But we did have a great experience with TAP. The food is mediocre, however.
