Salzburg/Vienna

Message: Hi !

We are having a Austria pass can someone tell me if it can be used for urban transportation systems in Vienna , Salzburg, and Graz or do we have to buy separate tickets/cards for these places? Also is it going to very expensive to make a day trip to Munich from Salzburg? can one be back for the night to Salzburg

There are questions implicit in the questions you have actually asked that meg for more information. What is your overall itinerary? What kind of "Austria pass"? purchased where?

A day trip to Munich from Salzburg is affordable and do-able. But desirable? That's a different question. I'd have to know more about the entire trip in context to advise.

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi Rex,
Sorry I was not very clear with my query.
We are planning a weeks trip to Radstadt from 13.11.2004 to 20.11.2004.From here we go to vienna for two days 20.11.2004 to 22.11.2004.
we ahave Austrian rail pass purchased in India. While at Radstat we intend to visit Salsburg,Inns bruck,Graz and if possible Munich. At Vienna we plan to be see as much of the city as is possible since we have only about one and a half day. any suggestions which could make our trip memorable are welcome.we are open to making any changes.Needless to say we are budget travellers.

Rail passes can not be used for urban transportation systems in towns. If you want to use a municipal bus or tram you have to buy a separate ticket.

Shreedhar, as I answered to your previous post, Munich is 3,5 hours by train from Radstadt. If you get up early and take a morning train to Munich (probably you will have to change trains in Salzburg), you certainly can be back for the night in your hotel. But how much can you enjoy a trip to a city like Munich that is limited to a few hours?

Only one and a half days in Vienna? I'd recommend staying there longer and skipping Munich.
