Salzburg Sights-one question

We will be in Salzburg for 1 full day in the spring. Can we do the Sound of Music tour (~4 hrs) in the morning and then go to Schloss Hellbrun, which is in the outskirt of Salzburg, in the afternoon? Is there enough time to do both? I have no idea how long it takes to tour the palace.

I thought some Sound of Music tours included Hellbrun Palace?

Google Sound of Music Tours, Salzburg and I think PalenqueBob is right that you will find SOM tours that also include the Hellbrun castle.

We were in Salzburg 2 weeks ago and did Bob's Sound of Music tour, which was from 9:00 - 1:00 and included a stop at Schloss Hellbrun to walk through some of the grounds, but not a tour of Schloss Hellbrun. I would guess that a tour would not take more than 1 hour.

I will be in Salzburg during the first week of January and i am interested in the sound of music tour. Can someone recommend a tour guide? And is it wise to book a tour before I leave for europe (i'm going to prague first)? Thanks so much.

The water display at Schloss Hellbrun is worth the price of admission. The building itself is about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being tops.

The Sound of Music tour I took was a gigantic ripoff. The only thing worthwhile was the church in Mondsee and we did not have enough time to see it.

Thee tour stopped someplace on one of those commercial tour stops. For what reason I will never know, other than the expectation we would spend money.
The tour was a total waste of time.

that famous gazebo at the time was a paint peeling derelect and I hear now that it was damaged. You can find better ways to see Salzburg.

I just got back from Salzburg a few weeks ago and I went on the Sound of Music tour with Panoroma Tours. I booked about a week in advance. It was a great tour!

Boo,
Panoramo and Bob's both have SOM tours. The also offer a tour that takes you out in the mountains for a horse-drawn sleigh ride if that appeals to you. Try googling Sound of Music Salzburg and see what you get.

Panorama's guide named Ann(e) does a terrific Sound of Music tour. She also recommended Braun's for terrific apple streudel while on our break. It is within two or three minutes of the church where "Maria and the Captain" were wed.

The gazebo was relocated and reconditioned and is in terrific shape now. The real shame is that it is locked and no one can enter.
