Salzburg Hotels

I'm trying to find a nice comfortable inn/B&B in Salzburg located preferably in the old city. Any suggestions?

Kerry, We stayed at a hotel called the Weiss Taub, they have a website, sorry I don't have the addr. But it is also recommended on this site under Rants and Raves. I loved this hotel, it's located on a winding street in the heart of the old town, and is in fact, an old building itself. I can't say enough about the delightful staff they were very friendly and helpful in arranging things to see and do. Our room was huge and the b-fests very nice. I would stay there again in a heart beat. Also, I recall that the price was very resonable in 1999. Have Fun

Try the Goldenen Ente. Between the cathedral and the river. Charming and friendly. About $80 a night for a small but perfectly adequate double.

Have a great time - Salzburg is lovely.

Kerry,

Try Hotel Mozart. It's not quite in the old city, but it's a short walk from the famous Getreidegasse st. The rooms were large (for Europe), and the staff was helpful.
We even rented their bikes and rode to Hellbrunn Palace by the river. It took about 3 hours total and I thought it was a pretty cool thing to do.

Have fun. I loved Salzburg.

We and some friends stayed in Weisse Tau be several times. Last time we thought it was getting "tired". Last visit the friends stayed in Hotel (or Pension) Wolf right next to Weisse Taube, and they really liked it. The people were very friendly. We stayed in the Kasererbrau on the same street, and would not recommend it. Rooms smelled of smoke coming up from downstairs pizza place, and staff were not very friendly.
Wolf (and Weisse Taube) are in great location for easy walking to everything.

We stayed at the Goldene Ente last year and would stay there again. It is in the old part of town. The family who runs it is friendly and the restaurant is very good.

http://www.salzburg.tourismus.net/go...nte/index.html
Thanks everyone for your suggestion so far. I'm calling all of these places and they're booked!!!! I'm going to try this one mentioned two times, The Golden Ente and see what happens. However, I may need some more suggestions. All of these places are in our price range too. Thanks again

Kerry, Try the Pension Nonntal--they
have a web site. Otto is a piece of work
but very helpful. They are a mile from
the center but the bus is close and a
5 minute ride. Also, good food on the
half board plan. Good luck !
