Any recommendations for hotels in Salzburg? Something in the$$$ category, with local color.

Hi Louise,
I going to Salzburg in May myself. I chose Hotel Auersperg. They have a website and I believe it's www.auersperg.at Check it out and see if you like it. Have a nice time!

Hi Louise:

I stayed at the Hotel Elefant last October and I loved it! Beautiful decor, right in the heart of Old Town, friendly staff and great service. It's actually part of Best Western International, so visit their site to check it out:

http://www.bestwestern.com/

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions. Have a great time in beautiful Salzburg!

Hi Louise,
I stayed at Hotel Mozart last June and it was good - fairly decent sized room and the staff spoke English and were very helpful. It is a good location - just few minutes walk to the famous Getreidegasse (?sp) street. We even rented bikes from them at a reasonable daily rate and biked around Salzburg in the areas they suggested. The rate was reasonable and included breakfast.
Email me if you have more questions.
Good Luck.
lynn

Louise, If you have a car then I suggest
the Pension Nonntal about a mile from
the center but good access and free
parking. The owner Otto is worth the
price just for his help and advise.
It is more of a B&B with about 10 rooms
and good food. They have a web page.
