Salvadore Dali's Home

Hello, anyone know if Dali's home is open to the public, the one on the coast? Also where exactly is it, thanks.

Thanks, I remember seeing the photos of Dali and Gala on the porch and seem to remember that it was designed by Dali himself, true?

Hi

Dali stuff !

Ilive fairly close and take visitors several times each year.

Dali museum, Figueras

On the Spain - Italy autoroute about 15 mins from France. Dali designed the museum before his death ! Worth seeing, but very busy in summer. Good tapas by the multi storey car park next door.

Dalis house

Port Llegat

Beautiful location, and interesting visit. May not be open every day in winter. I've been a couple of times and they were closed for renovation. But Cadaques is charming

Bon chance

Peter
http://tlp.netfirms.com
Hi Nance:
Dali's house in the little coastal village of Port Lligat is open to the public. When we visited it was in July and since this was a busy time of year we were advised to pre book as they only allow so many people in at a time on a guided tour. (about 8 per tour I think and the guide speaks whichever language you require).and only so many people per day also ,therefore it's best to prebook.
The trio of Dali places to visit can be done in a day or two.
His home near Cadaques in Port Lligat is as the other poster mentioned a bit of a challenge to get through, partly I remember reading, because of Dali himself. He wished this part of the coast to stay as it was in his heyday and hence the road had not been widened (this was 2 years ago). (we are not good on heights my husband and I and we were a bit ?? well maybe more than a bit white knuckled at about two or three points on the road into Cadaques but if we can do it anyone can......)
His house there is charming. You should also see the castle/chateau that Dali gave his wife Gala which is in Pubol maybe about an hour or so away from the coast

Then of course his museum in Figueres is wonderful as well.
Have a great time!
