Lisbon - best place to see sunset dinner

We will be in Lisbon late December . We would like to have dinner at a child friendly restaurant in one of the towns that look over the water. We'd like to be able to watch sunset. Do any restaurants by the water serve dinner early enough to see a sunset in December (around 5pm or so)?
Thanks so much!

No-where in Portugal you can have dinner at 5pm. Dinner typically starts at 7:30 in Portugal. Snack-bars, though, are open day round.

You can't have dinner there at 5PM, but I'm sure they will get you some cocktails and something to eat.

In that case I would prefer Portas do Sol in Alfama. Since they are open from 10am until midnight, I assume you can have an early dinner there. In any case, the view is spectacular!

Portas do Sol has great views, but I'm not sure you can see the sunset from there. Can you?
I had the feeling it's more turned south, but I don't go there for quite a while ...

cheers,
miguel

Hm, haven't thought about that really. Did some research on the www and found this info: "Northeast of the castle, on the hill above São Vincente is Graça. This is a small town center around the Largo da Graça, where the No.28 tram stops. To the west is the Esplanada da Igreja da Graça (Miradouro de Santa Graça) with an open-air café. This café has one of the most spectacular views over the city-especially at sunset."

If I recall well, Largo de Graça is just next to Portas do Sol, right? Seems to be The Place for sunset!

Well, not really....

They are both on the same hill and Graça is turned west, Portas do Sol, turned south.
They are maybe a 10 mins walk from each other. Not 100% sure as I and can't remember the last time I did it walking (if ever...).

cheers,
miguel
