Salerno to Positano/Sorrento to Naples Airport - any driver recommendations?

Hello - I would appreciate any recommendations on good drivers/limo service. We will be arriving at Salerno train station and need to get to Positano. What is the best way to get there?

Second, we will be leaving Sorrento to go to Naples Airport for a mid morning flight. Should we take a car service or do the train option.

Thanks in advance!

Hi I,

Depending on when you arrive, I sugget taking the ferry from Salerno to Positano.

The docks are about 3 blocks SW of the train station at Piazza della Concordia.

Schedules are at http://tinyurl.com/j4ufa

If you can't make the ferry, the SITA bus to Amalfi stops at the train station. You change in Amalfi to get to Positano. Buy your ticket before you get on the bus.

We were pleased with Limousine Service Sorrento (Renato Cuomo)

Also consider Francesco. He has started his own business. He might give you a better price. http://www.francescomarrapese.com/

To save money and get more of a scenic view, we decided to take the ferry from Salerno to Positano. Hopefully, it will be a nice day and we can enjoy the view!

Is there anything we should know in advance about the ferry? Has anyone taken it before? I assume there will be taxis when we arrive at the port to get to the hotel.

Thanks!

Indovina - I often take that ferry. It's a scenic ride and takes about 70 mins. (- with a stop en route at Amalfi).

N.B. There are NO taxis at the jetty at Positano as there is no road access.

However, there are normally porters to meet the ferry.

.....

From Sorrento there is an inexpensive bus shuttle to Naples Capodichino airport.
Journey time: 1 hr. Fare: approx. € 7

For details see:

Hope this helps ...

Steve
