Salerno, Ravello, Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, capri
We will be arriving from Brindisi by train to Salerno. Are on a VERY TIGHT BUDGET! Cheapest accomodation we have uncovered is at a B&B in Salerno called "My Salerno Apartment" Has anyone got anything to say about this place? According to the Internet you can get a guest room for two people for 37 Euros a night...our kinda price. From there we thought we'd like to spend some time at either Positano and/or Sorrento so we can do Capri and make our way to Pompeii and on up to Naples. Suggestions and help on accomodation and transport options would be muchly appreciated. And thank you to all contributors to this forum...it's fantastic.

Hi again :)
You can find Amalfi Coast bus timetables (Salerno-Amalfi, Amalfi-Ravello, Amalfi-Positano-Sorrento) on: http://www.sitabus.it/sitabus/campan...uadro-XV-2.pdf For hydrofoil/ferry timetables to Capri (- from Positano, Amalfi or Sorrento see: http://www.capri.net/salsa/lang/en/page/transport.html Some other coastal services may also still be running: http://www.salernocity.com/comune/tr...i/costiera.asp (Check in Salerno for up to date timetables). For budget accomodation in Positano check out the Brikette (- hostel). See your other post for link. Hope this helps ... Steve |
harcourt:
I think I remember looking at this place online because of the low, low price. It looked OK, the 2 things that might affect a guest were, as I remember: a)you are sharing the place with the owner and her pets: a Basset Hound and a cat. I think the owner is an American or Canadian woman who moved to the area a few years ago. and b) the room has no windows to the outside- it has 2 windows that face into the apartment. If those 2 things are fine with you, I think the price is great, and the location is a little far from tourist pursuits, although maybe it could be a base for seeing Paestum. |
Very good price, but I would like to see the reviews
