I just remembered the lovely Plaza in Tordesillas, perfect place for lunch..As you cross/exit the plaza ,on the right is a small bakery that is famous in all of Spain for delious cookies called polvorones.People buy boxes and boxes of them to take back for family and friends. The walk to/from the bust stop is nice, along the river Duero. There is a replica of the Treaty of Tordesillas as you approach the convent! When I was waiting to go into the convent, swallows were going crazy, swooping over us!

You rarely see this town recommended Arévalo which is known for its tostón or cochinillo de Arévalo.

Many, many years it was the first place I ever had cochinillo. And this fellow at the next table ordered the head and with great gusto attacked the cheek.
