If you don't want a tour of the tower, go back to the options that include just the basilica, basilica and audio guide, basilica and guided tour, basilia and tower tour. Pick the one you want. If you DO want the tower tour, choose that option. I did brief research on which tower to visit and chose the Nativity Tower as it's considered to have more varied views. Once I selected the 9-12 window, I later was given the option of :15 minute time slots for entry.

I guess I was confused because I wasn't sure how long after we enter the basilica we should book entering the tower.

I had the same thought mmodrich. I allowed for 75 minutes in the basilica as the official website indicates that the audio guide is an hour in length.

Btw, I LOVE this video which shows how the basilica will look upon completion (hopefully in 2026).

Ann Marie - Are you buying any other tickets in advance for your visit to Barcelona?

I buy all tix in advance when possible to avoid ticket lines. This trip will be unique for me as it's an incentive trip my brother earned for sales (after a nasty divorce he's taking me as his plus one). Entry to the major sites are included with daily afternoon tour options. We could have gone that route with Sagrada Familia but are opting to do it on our own as the group tour of the basilica conflicts with something else we want to do and because I want to go up one of the towers of the basilica.

If advanced tickets are available for Casa Batllo (my fav Gaudi building), La Pedrera and Park Guell (my fav place in Barcelona) and you know when you want to go, I suggest you buy them to avoid ticket lines. We wanted to do a Taste of Barcelona walking tour and a Segway Tour (both well reviewed on tripadvisor) and they are both already completely booked and unavailable for our May dates.

Ok great thanks! The taste of Barcelona tour sounds like fun! We are going in May as well, May 14-22 in Barcelona. Those dates are probably booked for Taste of Barcelona but am going to check it out anyways. Thank you!

mmodrich, you will probably find dates for Taste of Barcelona that work for you. As we have several days when we are committed to afternoon tours, we only have two possible days to do that tour. As both are weekend days they are unavailable.

Btw, mmodrich! I recommend a day trip to the cute beach town of Sitges 35k south of Barca. Sitges is both family friendly and gay/lesbian friendly. The Bacardi family of Jamaican rum fame left Spain (I believe during the Spanish Civil War) then some of them later returned and built art nouveau homes in Sitges. The town is not much about "the sites" as it is about the atmosphere.

For an English guided tour in Sagrada Familia is there a specific time? I want to buy the tickets before we leave. And to confirm I buy the tickets for the Basilica and the towers and when we enter we will be able to sign up for a guided tour? Seems a little loosey goosey to me. TIA.
