Safety Issues in Romania

Would love to read any safety considerations for a solo female aged 70 travelling around Romania. I'm in good shape but will I be a target for
thieves?
Would appreciate your thoughts on this subject. I am an experienced traveler.

I had no issues. I was late sixties solo female traveler, see: https://mytimetotravel.wordpress.com...ing-bucharest/ and following posts.

Romania has significantly lower crime than the United States and also quite a bit less than most of western Europe. It is one of the safer countries in the world. As with travel anywhere, you need to be alert, more for petty crimes, especially in larger cities like Bucharest. As a seasoned traveler, you should not have anything to worry about. Our daughter-in-law is from Romania; we have been there, and personal safety was never an issue for us.

You'll be alright, just don't spend to much time in ghettos and keep your belongings close to you. This is an universal advice. I'm from Romania by the way.
