Safety in Rue Des Dames, PARIS ?
 

hello,
im planning to go in a vacation to paris and to stay in an hotel thats located in:
rue des dames
is this street consider to be safe?

daydreamboy - It looks just like any other perfectly safe street in Paris but why don't you take a look at the entire street from number 1 - 135 on PagesJaunes?
It's crammed full of cafes, shops, laundromats(Laverie)and restaurants.

DDB, you will also enjoy rue de Levis, which is a market street... there are TWO Monoprix stores, one for the groceries and one for the sundries. A few years ago we ate a couple of dinners at "Le 27 Gourmand", a tiny place on Batignolles just past M: Rome stop.

You might enjoy a very local Parisian park called Square des Batignolles, and also the Cimetiere Montmartre, within walking distance...

Rue des Dames has the interesting distinction of linking a working class area to a bourgeois area. (The 17th arrondissement is 2/3 filthy rich and 1/3 working class.)

As long as you are not afraid of workers or of the bourgeoisie, there should be no problems at all.

And let's not forget the increazing Bobos in Batignolles, but the only danger is your smaller chance to get a nice table without reservation. On a nore serieous note we always have nice diners at L'Auberge Rouge on rue de la Terrasse.

Probably safer than the Rue des Hommes.
