Safety for kids?

Bonjour,
I am scheduled to take a long awaited vacation to Paris. My 7year old grandson is traveling with me. We are meeting my daughter, his mother, during Christmas vacation. She has been studying abroad for the semester. My question: Would any of you take your much loved grandchild to Paris at this time? I am gathering information at this time.
Merci,

Yes, especially if the alternative is to leave him here alone.

There are many children living in Paris ;-) Let's assume they are all safe as houses.

Wouldn't his mother be the best person to ask this question? After all, if she's been there for a semester, she would have the best view of safey issues in the current climate and would know whether or not she wants her son to travel abroad right now.

Gee, thanks to you three who replied. You sort of make me feel like a blithering idiot!!! Of course I have spoken to his mother.
She is having a wonderful time. And is being treated very well by everyone. She is also concerned for her son and his safety. Just chalk it up to a grandma who worries!
Thank you for your replies.

Jan,
What does his mom think about it ?
Is your concern about being IN France?
Or is it the air travel involved ?

This is a hard one to answer, and maybe you just have to wait and see what transpires between now and then!

I have a trip planned to Italy in May.
I have two children, 11 and 14,
who are concerned about me going overseas without them.

I have told them I will not do anything foolish, of course !
because my first responsibility is to them
But, I will not sit home for the next xxxx yrs either,
just in case something may happen.

I think the only thing you can do,
is wait and see what the next 2 months bring.

Good luck with your decision!

Thanks Nan,
I have decided to just hang back, watch and see what happens.
Actually I am more concerned about the flight than being in Paris. I live in a small town and do adore Paris so very much. But I am fully aware that any big city, or nowadays, a town of almost any size needs caution.
My daughter fully believes that we will be fine. She is not in France, she is in Spain and as I said is learning so much about the culture. We both love Europe very much, especially Paris.
Time alone will tell me what decision to make.
Good luck with your choices as well.
