Safe from Katrina
Our prayers were answered when our son
Mark and Lynn and their three year old and baby arrived at our house at 1 am this morning. Thank goodness! Trees were down all over and only part of the road was passable, but they made it. Picayune, Mississippi will be without power for a month! They don't think there were any fatalities there. Lots of wind damage, of course. And my cousins in Hammond, LA are safe, too with no damage to their house! We still have very little phone service here in Eunice, LA. Poor New Orleans - there is no good news there. |
They arrived at 1:00 AM today???
Please do not tell us they were among those people who decided they could stay and ride it out |
Sarah
So glad to hear your good news, you must be so relieved that they are safe. I suppose theres one consolation with living in the UK, we may have a wet and windy climate 90% of the time and some of our villages get severe floods, but we hardly ever suffer with the devastation that hurricanes, earthquakes, landslides etc can cause. My prayers and thoughts go out to those in New Orleans and the surrounding areas that aren't so lucky. |
That is wonderful...what a relief for you.
We are all hoping and praying that everyone affected will be brought to safety. The rebuilding will be difficult after such devastation, but hang in there and stay strong. |
Aunt Ida, this is really not the time.
Saraho, glad to hear all is well. |
Saraho, good news for your family. I can't even fathom what it's like living through this.
