Safe drinking water?

Hi,
I haven't been in Czech Republic since 1991. Is the tap water safe to drink? My traveling partner is concerned about this because he's gotten sick in the past. Thanks!

Hi B,

Some people are very sensitive to differences in drinking water, even if the water is safe.

We drank tap water in Prague with no unpleasant results.

The water in Prague is fine - except for someone who has an extra sensitive tummy. then I would stick with bottled - but find a major brand they can get used to - since the differences in mineral content can bother some people.

We also had no trouble from drinking Prague tap water.

I had no problem with the water in Prague, and I have a very sensitive tummy.

No problem in Prague for me. I don't know about the rest of the country.

I drank tap water for 2 weeks in my flat, and I was fine. The country has lots of natural springs, and the water supply is good. My Czech friends say that all the tap water (with the exception of some old mining areas where only Roma live) is fine.
