Sadem bus from Milan Malpensa/MXP to Turin

have read about the bus on this forum- a few questions after looking at their Italian/English info sheet:

It says "reservation is required", and then also says tickets can be bought at the airport- are they just saying you need to have a ticket in hand before boarding? We'd like to await our daughters' arrival before buying the tickets, vs buying them ahead online. Is there usually availability to just buying the tickets and getting on the next bus when we're ready to go? (I realize they leave every 2 hrs or so.)

There's also a special note about luggage theft from the bus- not sure if your bags are on-board with you, or in a luggage compartment. Is this a case of just being aware, or more cause for concern?

Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it says you must buy online or at the ticket office.
VALIDITY OF TICKETS
Customers should buy the ticket both online or at official authorized ticket offices.

The airport website says on board ticketing.

It's a general disclaimer - not responsible for theft, damage, etc. Your luggage goes underneath the bus. Any small cases (backpack or small carryon) you can take on board and put in the overhead rack, but it won't have as much room as an airline or train. It really shouldn't be a problem as it says to be at the stop 10 minutes before departure. You put your luggage underneath and uou can hang out there until the luggage bin is closed, but most people go on and grab a seat. If the bus doesn't make stops between Milan and Turin, there is no chance of theft once the bin is closed. On buses that make stops, usually only one or two people are getting off so you can just keep an eye on it out the window. Not everyone has luggage so even if there is a stop, it doesn't mean they will open the luggage bin.

FYI - Some drivers open and close the luggage bin. Other drivers expect you do to do it yourself (especially if you are the only person getting off somewhere enroute). I've never seen any of them load your luggage for you. The bins usually stay open until it's time for departure.

The Turin airport site says on board tickets are .50€ more. They also state you can buy at nearby bars.

***Tickets:
Bars nearby the bus terminal and aboard (+ Euro 0.50 extra-charge)***

Turin seems to have a ticket office and ticket machine in arrivals so I would assume Milan has similar.

thanks, ky. Sounds like you are very familiar with the bus!

So there is usually/always space available? So we can wait for our daughters' arrival, and then go to the ticket booth and purchase tickets for the next bus?
