Judy - PLEASE do a trip report when you come home! As I said, someday I hope to do a VERY simmilar trip.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Brudermuehle in Bamberg very much. Great waterside location. Nice restaurant with a good breakfast, too.

If you are still looking for a hotel in Munich we have found a lot of information on OctopusTravel.com. We prefer to stay near the train station and there are lots and lots of hotels of almost every class in that area. Octopus doesn't necessarily have the best prices but they do have pictures and will give you an idea of what the choices are. Our favorite hotel is the Drei Lowen.

Hmmm ! The Drei Lowen---we stayed there in 1961--quite by accident.

Drei Lowen looks good! Aisleseat, that is a good site, thanks! Bird, I am still debating whether to stay in Bamberg or Nuremburg for 2 nights before heading back to Munich, and doing a daytrip, by train to Salzburg,,,weather permitting of course. I am still mulling it over.

Bird--it's turned cold here, so we're getting ready to prepare Sauerbraten for next week when family will be visiting.
