hanabanana - maybe check the airport website as you may be able to buy them from there. Or maybe you get a link in your email confirmation from ryanair - we have seen them in our email confirmations when we have used stansted and you just click through and book it. If thats the case then you likely get a discount for booking through ryanair rather than direct.

Oops meant to add - to book through ryanair and to get the discount you need to have the confirmation/booking reference for your ryanair ticket. You cant book the bus through them if you didnt buy your ticket from there.

I posted this less than an hour ago and already there are five replies. You Fodorites are amazing!
Thanks for the tip, jamikins. I'll check BA too; so far I have only looked at Ryanair.
hanabanana, here is the Skavsta airport bus site: http://www.flygbussarna.se/PageFB.aspx?page=5262 Probably a good idea to book online.

Hi,
You could also check Norwegian Airlines. Usually cheap tickets from Gatwick to Arlanda. In my opinion a better low cost carrier than Ryanair. Arlanda airport is far more convenient than Skavsta or Västerås (the two airports served by Ryanair).

Sometimes even SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) has good deals, always worth checking out:

SAS flies Heathrow - Arlanda.
You will get a small discount on the airportbuses if you buy your tickets on the internet (Skavsta as well as Arlanda airports, same company operates to both airports). Skavsta airport bus does not cooperate with Ryanair so no extra discount.

Hi again Rebecka,
Maybe you absolutely don't want to fly from Stansted but Ryanair has more frequent flights to Stockholm from Stansted than from Gatwick. Just a tip! From Stansted they fly to both Stockholm/Skavsta and Stockholm/Västerås.
All airlines operating between London and Stockholm are:
Low cost carriers
Ryanair: Stansted - Skavsta, Stansted - Västerås, Gatwick - Skavsta
Norwegian: Gatwick - Arlanda
"Regular airlines" (sometimes with very good deals):
British Airways: Heathrow - Arlanda, City - Arlanda
SAS: Heathrow - Arlanda
Arlanda is far more convenient than Skavsta or Västerås.
Good luck!
