A few comments:

People are entitled to their views. Obviously people feel very strongly about this topic and that is their right. I only took offence to the comment that I should be trampled and injured - a little uncalled for, don't you think?

Further, comparing watching the running of the bulls to condoning the actions of Neo-Nazi groups is disgusting. I am horrified that you would compare the murder of almost 10 million human beings to a bull fight. That comment just shows how ignorant you are.

Stand up for animal rights all you want. I hope you go and volunteer at your local animal shelter. But use your brain if you decide to post your opinions on this forum.

And don't worry - I am NOT spending 75 euros!

Carlos, thank you for the support!

and to everyone - thanks for the suggestions!

I think we will leave things and figure it out once we get there.

And we will definitely be booking our train - thanks again.

ok now, nowhere did I say YOU should be trampled. I simply said I have no sympathy for those who DO get trampled in such a silly exercise of "manhood". I sincerely hope that you do not get trampled - that's why you want a balcony view, right..?

p.s. I don't belong to PETA, I eat meat and wear leather, all useful purposes for animals, and I have adopted several animals in my adult years. I just don't see the 'fun' in this 'festival'. Also don't see the need for animal circuses anymore (Cirque du Soleil is mesmerizing enough), and am on the fence about zoos.

A final note to PalenQ and others. This is not a "public forum". It is the private property of Fodor's.

no you misunderstand my comment - no no comparing to Holocaust

but Neo-Nazis in today's Germany would not condone the Holocaust either - no way - but they still gather, not to celebrate the Holocaust but Nazism in today's context. Anyway i would never say that if it were construed as you perceived it - and thus i regret saying it in any way to infer that. Sorry.

Neo-Nazis of today are repugnant to me but i don't think they endorse what you say - anyway it's a matter of degree - in any case people who overlook needless animal suffering are callous.

Anyway regret your inferring that i equated the two and my mistake.

Yes, of course, but i believe or at least hope to believe that Fodor's editors believe it to be a public forum - it's open to anybody and to the editors' GREAT credit they seem to allow a free flow of ideas and opinions. So it's public in all purposes until the editor(s) says otherwise.

I was reading this site to read about Pamplona, and NOT to read about feelings toward the Bulls.
First RSN asked few questions about the Running of The Bull, and not whether it is morally right. Second this is a travel forum and not a forum for animal right.
So cut it out and go picket in front the Mcdonald.

snowed, you can close your mind to things if you wish: that is the way of the studid and the backward.

The purpose for which people travel is a travel issue. I am quite willing, and entitled, to say that I deplore cruelty that is inflicted on animals for no purpose other than recreation, and that I think that those people (many of them drunk) who run with the bulls are idiots who merit little sympathy if they are injured.
