Run of House

In searching info about Paris hotels I've come across the category "RH-Run of House", could somebody please tell me what this means exactly? Thank you for your trouble.

It means you'll get your choice of the best room in the house that is available when you check in. No guarantees of what that will be.

Actually, Ithink it means the hotel gets to pick whatever room is available at the time of your check-in-no guarantees about views (ie street vs courtyard), floor etc. It usually equates to less desirable I think.

It is usually the same price as the lowest category room the hotel has to offer. It is never the best room, this would often equate to an expensive suite. In practice, when the hotel is not so full it will be a room in a category one or if you are lucky, two higher than the standard one.

Mclaurie is right -- you don't get a choice of the best room available, you get NO choice. The house gets to give you whatever they want, that's why it's called that. I'm sure it must be within the category you paid for, though (ie, double room rather than single).
