I've stayed at both the Millesime and d'Angleterre. In both I was quite satisfied..have been going back lately to the Millesime because the staff is so nice and the breakfast is better. <BR><BR>Always have taken the deluxe room and have always had loads of space..one of the rooms at the d'Agleterre does have a rather quirky bathroom...toilet is in a seperate room and it's so small you have to sit then close the door!!<BR><BR>either one would be an excellent choice

Just wanted to offer my opinion on the Hotel d'Angleterre, where I've stayed twice. First, the location is quite wonderful. Second the staff is VERY helpful and accomodating. Third, the rooms are very nice sized rooms - on our last stay, just a few months ago, we switched from a hotel with really small rooms and luxuriated in the space of our room at d'Angleterre. But, I would say that, if you are into squeaky clean, impeccable housekeeping, this place is a little musty around the edges. If things like dingy carpets and draperies, and soiled wallpaper bother you, you may not be delighted here. In short, it could be cleaner, and really should be spruced up. But the size of the room (we had inner courtyard rooms) is a real plus. Good luck!

I think all hotels are not 100% spotless. When you say dingy do you mean really awfully dirty or it's tolerable?

Like Russ I was recently in Paris and also stayed at the Millesime. I highly recommend this hotel. I had a superior double on the fourth floor overlooking the street, but there was no noise to speak of. The room and bathroom were impecably clean. All of the desk staff were very helpful and all spoke English. Remy (a man incidentally) is particularly helpful and made all of my dinner reservations in advance. The concierge service is very prompt in making reservations when you email. Like Russ I thought the Hotel des Marronniers looked interesting. Anyway I loved the area, I was traveling solo and it felt very safe.

I am thinking Chris means dingy as in not brand new and bright rather than dirty.<BR>I never noticed any dirtiness in the hotel.

Kate, Angleterre's bath amenities?

They have their own name on them I think.I always buy something in one of the shops nearby because I love to bring back soaps and candles from trips.So I use that at the hotel,and I bring my own shampoo.<BR>
