Rue du Temple

Has anyone stayed at 38 Rue du Temple through Rentparis? Would appreciate any feedback. Do we really need A/C? Will be there early June. We are from Texas so used to the heat but don't want to be uncomfortable. Thanks

It would be unusual to have Texas style heat in Paris in early June except on relatively rare occasions.

Does this mean no A/C necessary?

I wouldn't count on it being unnecessary. We live in Scottsdale (where it's 106/41 at the moment) and almost perished in the European heat wave in early June 2003.

And this was in hotels that were air-conditioned (they simply aren't engineered for those heat/humidity loads).

So i guess it doesn't matter if you have AC or not as if it's hot enough to use it it's not up to par.
The heat wave that lasted all summer 2004 you know killed an estimated 10,000 or so mainly elder French folks - some in nursing homes. I believe France had a law then saying that nursing homes could not be air conditioned - threat of Legionaires disease or some such thing. It was deemed that AC was not needed. the past few summers have had unusual heat waves so to have AC guaranteed that actually cools off you have to do a fairly upscale hotel i think.

After suffering through a July in Paris heat (this is why Parisians go on vacation then), I wouldn't risk it without AC.

My sister was there three weeks ago and was very happy she had AC and she's from Texas.
