I have been to Rouen a couple of times. The historic center is pretty. There are lots of half-timbered buildings that are interesting. The cathderal is lovely. I think it is worth stopping in but i can't say that I thought it was amazing.

If you are going to be in Fecamp be sure to see the cliffs at Etretat. You may also consider stopping at Honfleur which is near Le Havre. Honfleur is a charming fishing village with a lovely port and a very interesting wood church wich is rare in western Europe. I have been to Honfleur several times and have enjoyed it every time.

When i left Rouen and went towards Le Havre I followed and itinerary in the Michelin Green Guide that was a very very pretty drive along the banks of the Seine river.

Here are the towns you go through in the Le Havre to Rouen direction: Tancarville,St Maurice d'etelan, Norville, Villequier, Caudebec en Caux, Le Trait, Yainville, Le Mesnil sur Jumieges, Duclair, St martin de Boschervile. The drive took me about half a day or so including stops along the way.

Be sure to stop at the ruins of the Abbey of Jumieges if you do that drive. They are very very interesting.
