http://www.vvvrotterdam.nl/uk/ is a good place to start.

http://tinyurl.com/bkooqr offers private tours, though I have no idea of the quality of them.

www.spido.nl offer harbour tours which you can combine with things like entry to the cube houses.

If you plan on using the Metro in Rotterdam you will need an OV Chipkaart. http://tinyurl.com/dd8wdl it is the same as an Oyster card in London, and gradually being introduced into all public transport in the Netherlnads. The Rotterdam metro is the first to use it exclusively. You can still use strippenkaarten on the buses, and but normal train tickets.

I would hop on a train to Amsterdam and do a city tour there.

Rotterdam has lots to offer, good museums, fantastic modern architecture and is an underrated city.

I agree with hetismij, Rotterdam is a great city to visit.

Kijk-Kubus, the walk of fame, and the Oude Haven boat yard are an easy walk from the train station that looks like a space ship. the post WW2 architecture is cool to look at, you can even tour the apt. at the Kijk-Kbus.
