Rothenburg-Innsbruck-Rome
 

We have booked hotels in Rothenburg, Innsbruck, and Rome in September. Travel by trains. I saw a post somewhere saying that going somewhere in Switzerland rather than Innsbruck had easier train options. I don't see that on the various train sites but maybe I'm missing something. Any thoughts on this? I'm thinking that Switzerland might be more interesting but then Innsbruck looks good too. We're not big museum/art fans, but like scenery and seeing the smaller towns. Thanks for any ideas.

I absolutely love Innsbruck and I think you will enjoy your time there. I like Switzerland too, but I believe Austria is just as beautiful and I have always found it to be less expensive. I think you have a good plan already.
