Rooms for 4
We're travelling to Bavaria, Austria, Switzerland, and Paris in mid-March. What is our best bet in finding rooms (economical) for 4; 2 adults, 2 children (9 & 13)?

Thanks

I think that www.nethotels.com can help you with Austrian hotels.

Here's a great source if you want to stay at least a few days in each place and make daytrips to nearby places:

www.touristhome.de

This site lists very economical vacation apartments for rent, mostly in the quieter places where Europeans like to vacation. Many of the places are near bigger places like Munich; Diessen is one such place -- a very small town on the Ammersee lake just a boat-ride away from Herrsching and nearby Andechs Monastery, with its famous brewery and restaurant, and a short drive from Munich by car. Here's a place that rents for about $50 per night, with 2 bedrooms and everything you'd need for several days' stay (these apartment rentals are GREAT for kids and families.)

www.touristhome.de/english/59294.htm

Hope this helps.

My family of four stayed at Hotel Famille in Paris last May and found the accommodations both economical and satisfactory in other ways as well. It has a web site and is listed in several Paris guides (including Fodor's).

Hi !!
We travelled as a family of 4(kids 8 &11)in Europe from April - June '99 and didn't have any problems with Family Rooms although they were uasually small(as expected). Most travel guides give the maximum number of people in a room, so we only rang those hotels. We would try to book a country ahead, sometimes even ringing from the train as we travelled or even when we arrived in a new city. Tourist offices were also helpful.
