Room with a view-Paris

I seem to recall a couple of years ago reading about an older hotel near the louvre that was in the process of renovation. The writer stated that the view from the balconies in the front of the building [or from the ceiling to floor windows] of the Eiffel Tower and I think, Notre Dame were spectacular. Does this hotel sound familiar to anyone? Name? Thanks for trying.

I'm not sure if this hotel is Hotel Brighton located on rue Rivoli. Guests have comments about views that you mention and it was renovated a couple of years ago. But it has gotten mixed reviews in the past.

I have stayed at the Hotel Brighton many times, the latest just last month. It is currently undergoing renovations. If you book a room in the front you will have a spectacular view of Paris. Directly in front is the Tuileries, to the left the Louvre and to the right the Place de la Concorde. In the distance is the Eiffel Tower. At night when everything is lit up it is magical! Directly across the Rue de Rivoli is the Metro. An ideal location within walking distance to so many attractions.

The Hotel du Louvre has such views (depending on which face of the hotel you are on), floor-to-ceiling windows/doors and seems to be continually going through some form of renovation--guess that's how they keep it so nice.
