Room with a view in Aosta

Can anyone recommend a bed & breakfast, castle, or hotel in the Valle D'Aosta, were there is a balcony with a great view?

Biz---Valle d'Aosta is a big area. Do you have any specific town or village in mind, or does it matter? Or were you really talking about the city of Aosta? Would help if you identify a more specific location where you'd like to be.

Hi Wayne. I don't have a specific area in mind. The above mentioned hotels are the only ones I'm finding in Aosta. We want to take the drive up from Turin. We want a spectacular view from our own balcony. Somewhat close the the Matterhorn. That is not a requirement, as any Alp will do for us. We live in super flat Florida, and have not seen anything larger than an anthill in ages. We want to be within 20 min or so from the casino. It's the first leg of our honeymoon, so we are looking for a quite location (but not so quiet that there are no restaurants or shops), a clean and comfortable hotel, castle, or b & b, a view, and we don't want to spend much more than $100 per night. We will be exhausted after the wedding an flight, so relaxation with a side of tourism is the plan. Does this help? Grazie.

It doesn't have to be aosta specifically, just someplace with a killer view.

Hello Biz,

For a view of the Matterhorn you'd have to stay in Cervinia. Otherwise for great views the nicest resort is Courmayeur IMO.

Steve

I've only been lucky enough to be in Cervinia in the winter. It's gorgeous. In the winter you can take the ski lift up from Italy, then down the other side into Switzerland. Anybody know if you can do that in the summer? Or hike it easily?

Biz - When are you going? Be aware that some resorts have a close season in the autumn before the start of the ski season.

Steve

October. I did notice that many resorts were closed. Probably for a much needed vacation themselves. Thanks for the info folks.
