ROOM WITH A VIEW

Can anybody recommend a hotel in Paris that has a nice view? It does not have to be a large room, but comfortable and with a nice view of anything really. Be it water, park, garden, nice courtyard, beautiful street scene or any nice view of the city itself.

There are thousands of hotel rooms in Paris w/ great views. What is your budget??

WE stayed at the Hotel du Pantheon which overlooked... the Pantheon.

Hi lenkis,

Hotel Brighton overlooks the Tuileries -- loved it.

Many hotels with different nice views. But usually you have to request specifically and also higher room the better.

Hotel de France 2*(7th - Les Invalides view)

Hotel Monge 2*(6th - street view and far away a bit of Notre Dame)

Hotel Saint Louis, Deux-Ils (4th - street view and other views beyond)2 & 3* I think.

I have stayed at all above and had above mentioned nice view, the first two more than once.

We stayed at the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles and had a very quiet room with a view of the garden and courtyard. All this in the 5th close to the Rue Mouffetard market and many restaurants -- for a reasonable price.

From the Hôtel Le Madison the rooms on the boulevard (no street noise) look across to the church of St-Germain-des-Près and its small park to one side.

I'm told that in these cases, some rooms have a view of Notre Dame

I believe that room #25 has a view of Notre Dame and the Pantheon

Residence Monge

some rooms face a garden courtyard

We stayed at the St. Jacques last month. Nice, well-decorated place with super low prices for Paris.

I believe any reasonably high room facing rue de Carmes (as opposed to rue des Ecoles) would have a view south to the Pantheon and a view north to the front towers of Notre Dame. No balconies, though, except I think on the top floor.

Elaine, the hotel doesn't have "garden courtyard". Their rooms are either facing the street (far away you can see a part of the Notre Dame) or some have the view on the Arènes de Lutèce. Perhaps you took the arena for the courtyard.

good catch, I went back to my Paris file and had misquoted myself.
The hotel with the pretty courtyard that I had in mind was the Marronniers.
thanks for the correction.
