Ronda, Spain Accommodations

Anyone have any great advice on accommodations in Ronda or in another of the White Villages? I see conflicting views on the parador and on some of the older hotels. Thanks!

Do you have a budget in mind? It would also help if you pin down the time of year.

Honest reviews here the Parador is fabulous my personal fav...

Beware TripAdvertizer dishonest reviews many faked by jealous

competitors so I just go with recent honest reviews by Booking.

If the way you travel is 'Parador' expectation you are going to have a hard time finding it in Pueblos Blancos.

Reply to all: Since I'm spending 3 weeks in Spain in Sept-Oct 2011 and the dollar is in the tank, I have to conserve budget, so the budget is not Parador-level. I went with Booking.com and decided on Hotel Reina Victoria. 77 euros/night, including VAT. Parking. There seem to be those who say it is faded, dated, and others who don't. After I made the reservation, a friend said she had a good experience at Don Miguel. I am just looking for a place to land for a couple nights to explore Ronda and the White Villages area!

The Reina Victoria is an old hotel but was refurbished some years ago. It has a private parking space which is free (I recall) and it is walking distance to the old neighborhood, and the walk is mostly flat. The Don Miguel is right in front of the Parador, over the gorge. Parking there is almost impossible, maybe the hotel can fix something, but it may add to your bill, you better check. My friends stayed at nearby Hotel Ronda, new, told me they were satisfied. But has no parking. Other hotels are whare parking is easy, but for going to the city center there is a really steep walk. I'd take the Victoria.

Thanks, Josele, for your assurances! Yes, it appears that parking is free at the Victoria but not the Don Miguel, and that the location is a good one.

Now onto Granada accommodations! Any advice there?
