Rome-ward bound, oh I wanna beeeee, Rome-ward bound

Got a ticket for my destination!

Romeward bound
I wish I was
Romeward bound
Rome, where my thought's escaping
Rome, where my music's playing
Rome, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me

apologies to Simon and Garfunkel. (Anyone wanna see my song, "Paper-route driver" as sung by the Rutles? \:D/ )

Yippee skippee! Off we go, in 10 weeks! We're hitting London for 4 nights and Rome for 4.

Another flurry of reading commences.

Flygirl,

First I can't get the Eternal City out of my mind and now I can't get your song out of my mind!!!! Shop, eat and be merry! Buy a silk scarf or two for me. Italy has the best silk. In fact, the best of everything.

This is getting me even more excited for my trip. Been planning it since January and we leave NEXT FRIDAY! My first trip there. Can't wait.

Very nice, flygirl!

Just click your ruby-red slippers together and keep repeating, "There's no place like Rome; there's no place like Rome..." :)

Boy, first we get pp&m, and now s&g. Really dragging out the old songs, aren't we! Coming into Los Angeleeez, bringing in a couple of . . . . Don't touch my bags if you please Mr. Customs Man!" Oops, sorry, you're not going to Amsterdam, are you?!

That was nice. Now you have me thinking about Rome as well. I did London and Rome in Feb and had a great time. The Eternal City is amazing! London is my home away from home.

The old songs are the best. I have been listening to those lads from Liverpool for 40 years (I started at a very young age!).

Nah, nah, nah, nah.
Nah, nah, nah, nah
Hey, hey, hey
Goodbye.

Flygirl,

have you picked and hotel yet? I was searching for one for my husband and MIL and I was really impressed by the new 47 hotel, near the forum:
http://www.summithotels.com/hotel_ho...?id=FCOFS&

I was quoted (for later October) 198.00 EUR standard or 270.00 superior. Suite is 360.00, which I thought VERY reasonable.

regards ... Ger

almesq Oct 2nd, 2004 01:18 PM

flygirl--I did post a trip report (the day after we got back--it was like living the trip all over again). Do a search on my name, it's there.
If you (or anyone else) has any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Enjoy your trip.
