Thanks again everyone for reading my report!

SeaUrchin...great minds link alike...I've already created and ordered calendars for me and mom from our trip pictures!

nwtraveler...

I agree, loved the eggplant dish at Sarcred & Profound. We haven't recreated that dish here at home, but we did recreate the salad and pistachio pasta dish we had at Lumie di Sicilia this past weekend (it was my special birthday request to have that meal here at home!)

TexasAggie,

Thanks for the compliment on the report and pictures. After friends saw the pictures I had 3 comments that they really liked the red coat too! Yes, it was waterproof (microfiber material) and it did keep me warm, but I also usually had a long sleeve shirt or turtle neck and sweather on under the coat. I got it at a discount store called Tuesday Morning...the store here closed this past year, but there are other locations in my area, not sure if it a national chain.

Azzure...

We were also told the building Sacred & Profound is in was at one time a bicycle shop! Go figure!

thursdaysd...

I do believe the link you provided is the same restaurant. The link was in Italian, but in the zone category it said Centro Storico, so I am assuming that is the place! Thanks for the link!

raspberryberet...

Thanks for reading the report and looking at the pictures! I loved being in Rome at Christmas!

I'm not in the habit of topping my own trip reports, however I just booked tickets to go back to Rome for Christmas 2008!!!!

My mom and I had such a great time in Rome last Christmas and the more we thought about it after we returned the more appealing the idea of going again seemed.

I found pretty reasonable airfare (at least it was below my usual cut-off limit!) and couldn't squash the urge!

I'm so excited to be going back and just had to share the good news with friendly fodorites!

Now I have a week in Rome and 3 weeks in France to look forward to this year....oh yeah...I am a travel-aholic!

LCI-- I loved your report and missed it the first time around. What a wonderful trip and especially nice for your mother to be with you in Rome at Christmas!

The tour part sounds fun too, except for the early morning starts.

I'll look forward to hearing about your next trips!
