Rome transfer advice

I am in need for advice for transfers from the airport to our apartment in the Campo area, and also for the return. It is just my husband and myself with luggage. I had thought about Rome Shuttle but have recently seen poor reviews about their reliability and not being at the airport to pick you up. Need reliable transportation please.

Thanks for the help,
Tammy

The set rate for an official taxi from the airport is 40 euros. Just go to the official line.

Were the reviews for www.romeshuttlelimousine.com or another service? Rome Shuttle Limousine usually gets good reviews on this board.

I've used www.limoservicerome.com, but they will be more expensive than an official taxi.

If we take a taxi from the airport to the apartment, will we have trouble finding a taxi to take us back to the airport?

I have also used limoservicerome few times.Never had any problems, they are very professionals and very punctuals.

If you take a taxi, get the phone number of the company so you can call one again. There also might be a handy taxi stand near your apartment. You can also use a shuttle service roundtrip or one way. It's all up to you.

kybourbon: Yes. The service was rome shuttle limosine. There is a trip report from "Bruce and Marija" where they stated the driver never came for them at the airport. when they called, the operator says they were picked up and gave no apologies. There was also a response from "elcon" who said they too were stranded by rome shuttle limosine. And "LAwoman" said her rome shuttle driver arrived in a rome taxi. It was these comments that made me nervous about rome shuttle. I was very surprised with these comments as well.

Rome Shuttle and Rome Shuttle Limousine are two different companies. Just trying to clarify which company actually got a bad review. There have been dozens of positive reviews for Rome Shuttle Limousine.

The problem exists with Limo Service Rome and a rip-off company that copied their name except they added an S at end of Service(s). There are many bad reports for Limo ServiceS Rome, but no bad reports for Limo Service Rome. Sometimes people book the wrong company by not paying attention to the spelling.

Andrae is who I communicated with at Limo Service Rome.

We have used Limoservicerome many times not only for airport pick-up but they also transported six of us from Rome to Sorrento. We have found them to be reliable.

We used romecabs.com last year for transfers both ways. They were great, even showing up right on time at 3:30 am for our early departure.
I have already booked them for a return trip in October.

As kybourbon has stated. there are many companies that "clone" a name so similar that it gets very confusing. Our best experiences have been with Stefano at www.romecabs.com and Alfredo at www.romashuttle.com. Both these companies have competitors who have very similar names!

The set fare for an offical Rome taxi is 40 Euro. They cannot charge more than that for airport transfers.

I prefer Limoservice rome and have never been disappointed

I wouldn't use a taxi, even though the rates are fixed. People will try any way they can to rip off tourists, and that's one of the easiest ways. I usually book my transfers through Fortuna Car Service and they cost only slightly more than the fixed cab rate, with NO hidden charges. The drivers also speak English and their number is 06-39378725. I usually speak to Francesco.

If you use a taxi to return to the airport, Radio Taxi has dispatchers who speak English. You can book the night before but only if you have a phone number to give them. Their stickers are plastered on almost every public phone in Rome.

I've used Limo Service Rome twice without problems.

That is the set fare for an official Rome taxi. If it's an official city of Fiumicino taxi, they can charge 60€.

In Rome last year. Used Romeinlimo.com. Couldn't have asked for a better driver than Salvatore Coppola. He took us to places that tourist d/n go. Sidewalk cafe, bakery and a great outdoor market. Speaks English also. Waiting for us at our ship and took us around Rome for the day. Be sure you get an official taxi.
