ROME- tour guides recommended?

I received a list of tour guide companies from AMEX but thought you savvy travelers might know of a personal guide for Vatican tour for 3 pax. Don't want to stand in long lines and want to see Vatican in 1/2 day. Traveling end of July. thanks for your help

There has been many threads on this lately. Just type in "Rome tour guides" (without quotes) in the search field above.

In Feb.2007, we were fortunate enough to tour the Vatican museum with Brenda Bohen (Italy with Us,I believe). She was most knowledgeable about the art and relevant history. Another real, (but not so obvious until you're there)bonus is that instead of finding your way around an almost always crowded building, you can focus on the exhibits. One of our best travel experiences.

I also used Brenda Bohen this past April. She spent over 5 hrs with us going through the Vatican. She is working on a PHD of the Vatican.

You can reach her at [email protected]

Just stay away from Vatican Tours Inc. They were unorganized, late, lacked people skills and way too expensive for what you get.
