Rome to Venice: Train or Plane?

Jump to last reply

My kids fly home from Venice on Saturday at noon from Venice. We will all be in Rome so they will travel from Rome to Venice to board their flight home.

There are flights on Saturday morning from Rome (FCO) to Venice Marco Polo (VCE) that leaves Rome at 8:25am and arrives in Venice at 9:25am.

Are the Alitalia terminals close by to the American Airlines terminals at Marco Polo airport? I've never been there so I don't know how big an airport it is. Their flight home is at 12noon so does landing at 9:25am give them ample time to get to the AA terminal, check in and board?

The alternative is taking a train the night before (leaving Rome at 8pm or thereabouts), but that will limit their time in Rome on their last day, so a Saturday morning flight is preferable.

If anyone is familiar with the logistics of Marco Polo airport, I'd really appreciate your feedback.

Thanks!
