Rome to Sienna?

I have been looking through numerous tour guides trying to find the best route from Rome to Sienna by train or bus. Rick Steves says there is one bus that departs daily and 8 trains. Does anyone know if the bus is more scenic? Also, does anyone know where to get the schedules?

FYI: you must change trains at Chiusi to get from Rome to Siena. No experience with bus.

No 1st hand experience but almost used them. I believe you get a reserved seat and it drops you right in Siena. Regards, Walter www.lazzi.it/senaautolinee/index_e.htm <BR>

Did the Lazzi express from Siena to Rome was wonderfully scenic and so quick and easy. I would highly suggest buying ticket in advance the line was so long we missed the 1st bus and had to wait for 2nd. As usual in my traveling experiences "there are No mistakes im travel just missed opportunities" 'cause we had a wonder lunch in Siena while waiting for the 2nd bus. Take walter's advise check it out @ lazzi.it.

Was there 5 weeks ago. We stayed in Florence and took the bus the Sienna. The bus is much better as it takes you to the center of town. The rail station is not downtown. It you go by train, you will need to take a cab or bus to the center of town. The bus station in FLorence is adjacent to the train station. There are at least 2 buses every hour. Take the direct bus, I think it was about 45 minutes. The milk run takes twice as long.
