Rome to Siena by bus-need help!

Hello,
I've been trying to find a link for bus service to Siena from Rome. I looked at a site that was called "Sita" (if I recall correctly) & I could find no price or time table data. I'm looking at bus service versus train as the buses drop in the center of the city, which will be more convenient to the hotel where we will be staying.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Although I haven't traveled by bus and train in Italy, I think the train would be more conveninent, faster. You can always hire a taxi from the train station. Your hotel may have an arrangement with a driver too if you ask.

I'm sorry, I just tried the URL and it'll only take you to the home page. Once in the home page click on the top right "english version". Then on the left click on "Timetable and fares", then click on Rome- Siena. That will give you the schedules.

BTW, I have been told by many people that the bus is more direct and convenient that the train.

Hi cc,

The SenaBus is direct from Rome Tiburtina station to downtown Siena.

If you go by train, you have to change in Chiusi and the train station is about 1.5 km outside the town.

Hi cch1,
I took the bus from Rome to Siena while in Italy last September. The bus leaves from Tiburtina station in Rome every 1.5 to 2 hours. The trip takes 2.5 hours and costs around 17 euros for an adult. The Sena bus is clean and comfortable; nice scenery along the way. The bus drops you off in Siena in Piazza Gramsci, from there you will see signs pointing to the hotels and major sights. Hope this helps.
