Rome to Positano
My wife and I have booked a private transfer from Rome to Positano in early September. It is an 8 hour transfer with a certified Driver/Guide. We have never done this sector before and all we really know is that we will be traveling through Frascati and the Castelli Romani area before traveling on to Positano. Any advice on how best to fill the 8 hours would be appreciated.

8 hours?

It sounds like the sightseeing is already built in. No way that trip should take 8 hours unless you are already scheduled to see things on the way.

Apologies for not being more specific. I'm sure the driver/guide will have something planned but at this stage we only know that we will be traveling through the regions mentioned and that we have paid for 8 hours. My query was more about getting some advice on any particular places that people recommend we should visit on the way so that we could discuss this with the guide.

You could ask to see this:

The actual driving time direct from Rome would be about 4 houers, so you have 4 hours to spend. hat doesn't give you much time to "see" anything really that makes it worthwhile spending an extra 4 hours with the driver. It sounds like the trip is more for his benefit than yours?
You say that you have paid for this trip already and I'd guess that you won't see much change out of 7 or 800 euros, but if I could, I'd train to Naples and take a car from there, it's only about an hour from Naples to Positano. |
Many thanks for your advice - cheers

I appreciate the advice and now think that whilst I will still keep the 8 hour booking I might stop in Frascati and then go on to Ravello for another stop and then along the coast to Positano. Any thoughts?
