EasyJet flies Paris Orly (ORY)to Rome Ciampino (CIA)and Air Berlin flies Paris CDG to Rome FCO. For budget flights - www.whichbudget.com or www.skyscanner.net

We took the night train and thought it was great. What I like is that the train stations are right in the city so there's no additional travel time to an airport.

Trains also have a lighter global warming impact than short flight jets so for me that was the final straw that tipped us to the train ride.

Be aware that the Air-Berlin flights are through Vienna

If you want to fly try ryanair.com Wonderful rates from Ciampino..I am flying Rome-Paris in June for around $90.00 round trip. We have taken the train many times from Paris to Rome but not the other way around. We really enjoyed it. It was a night train leaving around 7 and arriving in Rome around 9 the next morning. Dinner in the dining car was lovely. We are doing this again in May. Price runs around $220.00 per peron..Flying will be less expensive..But the train experience is really wonderful

I didn't list Ryan Air because the airport they use isn't in Paris. It's an hour from the city.
