Rome to Orvieto to Siena to Florence to Rome?
Hi Everyone,
I've been to Rome and Florence twice before and I was wondering if the itinerary below is possible for those of you who have been to Orvieto to Siena in late April:
SUN AM: arrive in Rome
MONDAY: Rome
TUE AM: train to Orvieto
WED AM: bus/train/plane/bike to Siena
THU PM: bus/train/plane/bike to Florence
FRIDAY: Florence
SAT AM: train to Rome
SUN PM: fly home from Rome
My best friend and I are a couple of mid-20s girls and would really appreciate any recommendations or insight. Also, in case anyone missed it, we really need suggestions for transportation from Orvieto to Siena and from Siena to Florence. I'm having trouble finding info on SITA buses in English.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give us!

Siena isn't on the main train line. And the train station is outside the walls. You might consider making it a day trip from Florence and taking the bus. The bus leaves from near the main train station in Florence and stops close to the center of Siena.
Orvieto you could do as a daytrip from Rome or as a stopover between Rome and Florence.
Notice my tendency is to stay in fewer places. I like to establish a home base.
As for your flight, could you make it an open jaws? Fly home from some place like Florence or Pisa? Or maybe Venice?

Hi miss,
I think it would be easier for you to take a bus from Rome to Siena, SITA bus from Siena to Florence, train to Orvieto, train to Rome.
See http://www.senabus.it/
Click "Orari"
Click "Roma Tiburtina, Rapolano, Siena, Monteriggioni, Colle val d'Elsa, Poggibonsi"

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I would never have thought of visiting Orvieto in the first place if it wasn't for all the recommendations listed here.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out today that I'll be able to spend an extra few days in Italy and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for another city to visit? I'm torn! I feel like the north to Milan, Verona, Bellagio, etc. is a trip of its own, and down south to Capri and Amalfi is a trip of its own. Any ideas? Thanks again.
