Rome to Florence
Just planning a trip by train through Italy and France and was wondering if there are any sights worth seeing from the train between these two wonderful cities. Can Trasimeno Lake be seen from the train?
|
You will be able to see Orvieto on its hilltop location if you sit on the correct side of the train. However, my mind is boggled at the moment and I can't tell which side of the train that is. I will venture that it is the left side on the Rome to Florence trip, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
I will also guess (because of boggled mind I can't remember) that you can not see the lake from the train. I assume you are taking a direct train, and I also assume you are taking the EuroStar. Hope others can help more. It is a quick ride, not all that gorgeous, but pleasant and fast. |
Hi LL,
Should you fall asleep on the train you will not miss very much. Orvieto will be on your left. ((I)) |
Ah, Ira, I am glad to know that my poor brain isn't as dead as I feared. DD's wedding was last night, and it was a grand success, but oh am I worn out!

Thanks so much guys. Will watch out for Orvieto.
