Rome to FCO

Currently choosing a hotel in Rome, most likely we will stay near the Spanish Steps. How long does it take to get to the FCO airport from there?

A lot depends on traffic and weather. I've gone to FCO at 5 am, and it's taken barely a half-hour. Coming out of FCO in morning rush hour to my hotel near the Spanish Steps, sometimes it's an hour in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Hi V,

What mode of transport are you considering?

We stayed near the Spanish Steps, and got to FCO in under an hour using the Leonardo Express.

If you choose the metro/train you should be able to get there in an hour I guess. First you have to take the metro to Termini (only like 3 stops) and from there take the Leonard Express that takes 30 minutes to FCO. We used the Leonardo Express and you can read more about it in my trip report with pictures, links and map on
