Rome restaurant

Looking for recommendation for a restaurant in Rome for dinner. Prefer something local, "mom and pop" , small, romantic ambiance.

The possibilities are endless. Do you have a preference for area? A price in mind? There are tons of these places in Trastavere. My usual thing is to wander and look at posted menus and size up the crowd and make my mind up that way -- I haven't gone wrong yet.

HI
search right here on La Tartaruga, or click at the top of your screen on
Restaurants, and find the Rome listings. You will find raves in favor of this charming little family-run place, about a 10-15 minute walk from the Pantheon or Piazza Navona.

There's a little bit of contradiction in your description - - "mom and pop" WITH romantic ambience. Nevertheless, I think Le Volte might meet your criteria. Two minutes walk from the Pantheon. Medium small-ish.

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi HartmannA,

I agree with Patrick about there being tons to choose from & I highly recomend heading over to Trastevere. Lot's of wonderful mom & pop local places. Mmmmm can't wait to go myself....

We loved a place in Trastevere we'd read about here and elsewhere, Mario's on Via del Moro. Definitely "momma and poppa", but I wouldn't really call the ambience romantic.

A great waiter we had on our first night in Rome told us about another place in Trastevere, called (I believe) Buttero. It was full on the evening we tried to go there but, from what I recall, I think some people on this board have been there and really enjoyed it.
