rome -Recommendations for centrally located hotels in July for $200 ?
Hi,
After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, Slow Travelers, and other sites, I'm still confused about Rome hotel. Can anyone recommend the best centrally located area and hotel recommendation for a first rrip to Rome for a couple in their early 30's. We'd like to spend about $200-225per night. Thank you for any help you can give us.

Try this link. I have never stayed here, but will be this summer. It is by the Termini and ancient Rome. I have corresponded with the person that owns these apartments. Seems to be a good person and accommodating. Good luck!

Try Hotel Della Torre Argentina
http://www.dellatorreargentina.com/
It's centrally located & there is a bus stop right outside. I stayed there for a week a few years ago, and it was great. Awesome breakfast. It's not super fancy, but I really liked the way it was furnished. The bathrooms are beautiful, and the staff was nice.
Just an idea for you to look into, and I see they have special summer rates.

Not sure of the rates in summer, but I paid about 120 EUR in October at Gea di Vulcano on Via Nazionale - 10 minutes walking from the Termini, 20 minutes from the Colloseum & Trevi - good shopping and my fave restaurant around the corner - Abruzezze (sorry spelling!)

Hi
Well, I'm not sure I can recommend a hotel...my wife and I stayed at Bettoja Hotel Nord Nuova near Termini when we went there. But I have made a long trip report with pictures and links on my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com/rome_italy.htm and maybe you can find some useful info there. Also check out my Google map of Rome on this page http://gardkarlsen.com/rome_italy_map.htm . It shows you where some of the attractions are located and it also shows some restaurants and bars that I have been to Hope it helps
Regards
