Rome Rail Prices
If I was going to spend 2 nights in Venice, 2 nights in Florence and 2 nights in Rome...would it be cheaper to pay for the 2 legs of the rail..or go for a pass?? Does anyone know the prices from Venice to Florence, then Florence to Rome on the Italian Rail???

Thanks!

Almost surely cheaper to simply buy the point-to-point tickets, but you can check www.railsaver.com

And you can get complete are and schedule info at www.trenitalia.com

Best wishes,

Rex
A rail pass will always cost a lot more than a one-way journey, especially in Italy where ordinary fares are very cheap by European standards. A rail pass would only be worth considering if you were making a return trip from northern Italy to Sicily, or making several journeys between Venezia and Roma.

Hi jamie,
try www.railsaver.com. It will compare your PtP prices with the pass prices.

~
If you go via the Eurostar train, it'll cost:
Venice to Florence = 39 euros for 1st class OR 26 euros for 2nd;
Florence to Rome = 42 euros for 1st class OR 29 euros for 2nd.

It'll be cheaper buying tix point-to-point rather than a pass.
