Rome/Paris itinerary-please critique

We are four people traveling to Rome and Paris next May. We just booked flights into Rome on 5/22 and out of Paris on 6/5. We used dividend miles for flights so under $650 total for all including fees. No other reservations are made at this point. Here is the plan so far:

Leave Tues May 21
Arrive Wed May 22
Rome Wed May 22 thru Sun May 26 nights
Mon May 27 car or train to Montorrosa
Montorrosa Mon May 27 thru Tues May 28 nights
Train to PIsa or drive and drop car
Fly Pisa to Paris Wed May 29
Pick up car drive to Loire Valley France
Loire Valley Wed night May 29 thru Fri night May 31
Drive to Paris Sat June 1 drop off car
Paris Sat June 1 thru Tues night June 4
Wed June 5 fly home to Indianapolis leave 9 am

Questions:

Can we/should we cut one night Rome and add to Cinque Terre? None of us has been to Rome?

Should we drive or train to Montorossa?

Can we should we cut one night Loire Valley and add to Paris?

Where should we base in Loire Valley? Amboise, Tours, other?

Is Montorossa the best place to stay along the coast? Our two young adult daughters want to be on the Mediterranean coast.

Any other observations and recommendations are welcome.

Thank you!

Just a couple of comments.

I wouldn't pick up a car in Paris and drive to the Loire. I'd hop on the train and take it to Tours and get the car there.

Don't stay in Tours. Amboise is a better option.

I can't see how you could cut time from the Loire. You arrive the evening of the 29th and leave the 1st, so you've really only got at most 2 days there anyway (and a rental car for 2 days is going to cost as much as a 3-day rental, BTW).

Take the train to Chartres or return the car in Chartres. The cathedral is worth a stop.

Loved Amboise and the chapel at the chateau there where Leonardo da Vinci is buried. Also loved Chenonceau in the Loire. Don't cut time there.

Enjoy your trip!
