Rome Oct-Too early to book flight?

planning to visit rome & so. italy in oct. fares from miami $600+. is this a good fare. would it be better to wait and check every few days? thanks for input.

I'd say wait until you can get a fare sub-$500 if you want to lock down dates and decent seat assignments, but better fares than even that should surface. Depends. You could even find fares of $300 rt if you hit it right.

I booked a month ago on BA from Orlando to Rome via London for $520--for Oct.
Who knows what will happen now? If the flight was direct I would be tempted.

I just booked non-stop flight from JFK-Rome through sky-tours.com for $467 from Oct3-Nov3.

Check with your airline - if the price drops after you book, some will credit you the difference if you give them a call. I've already called once for my reservations with American - no hassle.

Try travelzoo.com and keep an eye on prices. Right now autoeurope.com is offering rates in the summer lower than that from MIA to Rome.

Hi Chiquita,
$600 is a good price. You *might* save 50 - 60 by waiting, or you might have to pay 50 - 60 higher.

The discounter I deal with has sold out all of its $600 tickets for MIA/FCO in Oct.

See tiss.com.

$600 to Rome in October is a good price and it would be risky to wait for a lower fare. I have been to Rome three times in the last five years in October and I can tell you that October is high season in Rome since it is very very hot during the summer months. You will see large crowds of tourists. I would also not wait any longer to make hotel reservations in Rome. Have fun.

Larry J
