Rome neighbourhoods for hotel

Jump to last reply

Hello, I'm currently planning my first trip to Rome, a 4 night stay that will happen in May 2012. I'm looking to book a hotel now and we are hoping to spend the least possible while still having a clean place to stay that is safe. We have been considering a place called A Room For Holiday, which is located between Via Magna Grecia and Piazza dei Re di Roma, close to the Re di Rome subway station. The hotel itself has great reviews, but I haven't found much about the area. Does anyone know anything about this neighbourhood? Is it safe, and will it be a pleasant and convenient place from which to base our Roman explorations? If not, does anyone know a different neighbourhood that would be better where we can find cheap accommodations? We are looking to spend in the area of 70 Euros for a double room.

Thanks!
